First let`s start with tools we need :
  1. Computer /Laptop
  2. Speakers/Headphones

Computer /Laptop

In fact you can use any average specification computer, nothing special.

Speaker/Headphones

This is very important tool. The speakers or headphones must be hi-quality to help you to get the best results. Hi-quality speakers / headphones are not expensive, you can find them on e-bay or amazon very cheap.

Microphone

You must be asking your self, what role has microphone in instrumental making. Well this is optional tool for making the instrumental. If you want to add some vocal sample, you must use microphone and that microphone must be hi-quality to get you the best results. You can find them on e-bay or amazon very cheap.

Instrumental Making Software

This is the most important tool. If you want to make some instrumentals you must have a right software to do it. You can`t do it on Ms Voice recorder, right?  So what software you should use?
I highly recommend using FL Studio (any version). Why?
FL Studio will provide to you all needed tools to create some hi-quality instrumentals. FL Studio has a lot of very useful features and options and even allows to you to install additional plugins and get even more options.  The interface of FL Studio is simple to use, and it does not require super powerful computer, you can install it and run it on almost every computer, even Pentium III.
