Creator of the "A Game of Thrones" books, George R.R. Martin says that the Iron Throne shown in the HBO's TV show is actually wrongly depicted. Via a recent blog post he has revealed details of what the Iron Throne should really look like. He says that these illustrations by the artist Marc Simonetti shows it the way author actually intended for it to look like.

Here's What The Game of Thrones' Iron Throne Should Really Look Like
"This Iron Throne is massive. Ugly. Assymetric. It’s a throne made by blacksmiths hammering together half-melted, broken, twisted swords, wrenched from the hands of dead men or yielded up by defeated foes… a symbol of conquest… it has the steps I describe, and the height. From on top, the king dominates the throne room. And there are thousands of swords in it, not just a few." George R.R. Martin wrote in his blog.
According to him, the Iron Throne is not intended to be a comfortable seat but to show the power of the king. But, he also says that he loves the design of the Iron Throne in HBO's show as well. Yet, he thinks it's "still not right." and it certainly wasn't the Iron Throne he wanted his readers to see.
Well, at least these artworks should paint a right picture for the fans.
