If you have been waiting for the day you could stream your favorite HBO shows using Netflix; your wait just got a little bit longer. According to an article posted by Reuters this week, the network that brings us True Blood, Game of Thrones, Veep, and Girls among others does not want to partner with Netflix.

The idea for such a relationship was raised by Netflix CEO Reed Hastings in a letter to shareholders on Tuesday. It was quickly dismissed by the network who said they have no plans to work with Netflix. Currently, HBO manages the distribution of its own content using HBO GO.

This incident is only the latest in a series; in addition to being frequently cited as a competitor to Netflix, HBO refused to sell True Blood DVDs to the company at the same wholesale prices it gives to retail stores.

Of the reference, Hastings says it was meant to point out Netflix like HBO is just another network:

“We’re just another network, and then when you have multiple networks, they often find ways of working together.”

However in a recent interview, Hastings made clear there is no partnership in the works.

Would you like to see True Blood and other programming head to Netflix for streaming Truebies?
