HABS: Which Hamilton Propects Are Least Likely to Give the Puck Away?

By Kicks @Chrisboucher73
Tracking every puck-possession event during a game allows us to gather enough statistics to quantify player performances in a multitude of ways.
The graph included here represents each Montreal Canadiens prospect's success-rate when attempting to maintain puck-possession or get a shot through to the net for the Hamilton Bulldogs this season. Events used in this calculation include pass and deke attempts in all 3 zones, as well as attempts to get a shot through to the net in the offensive-zone. Only even-strength events are used in this calculation.
The higher the number, the more successful that player has been at maintaining puck-possession. Conversely, the lower the number, the more likely that player was to give the puck away.

Nathan Beaulieu has been the most successful player at maintaining puck-possession for the Bulldogs. Therefore, he was also the least likely to give the puck away. Beaulieu success-rate of 71% was carried by his work in the defensive-zone, where he has been successful with 68 of 89 pass-attempts, and 13 of 16 attempted dekes.
Brendan Nash has been the least-successful among defensemen at maintaining puck-possession. Consequently, he has been the most likely to give the puck away. He has completed 28 of 48 defensive-zone passes, but only 3 of 12 attempted dekes. That said, we must remember that Nash is just returning from an injury that cost him last season.
Among forwards, Joonas Nattinen has been the most successful when attempting to maintain puck-possession for the Bulldogs. Carrying a success-rate of 70.7%. He success-rate is carried by his work in the defensive and neutral-zones, where he has completed 13 of 16 passes. That said, he has completed only 7 of 15 attempted passes in the offensive-zone.
Steve Quailer has been the least-successful forward when attempting to maintain puck-possession. His success-rate of 57.6% has been hurt by his work in the offensive-zone, where he has completed just 10 of 27 attempted passes.
Keep in mind, this is early in the season. The more data collected, the more reflective these numbers become.
