Every girl knows the routine. During the spring and summer months bright nail polish is essential. Then after Labor Day, we ditch those bright happy colors for dark dramatic color. It is just the rule that every girls knows (or should). While this season this rule is still place, there is a new color that has joined the ranks.

Expect to see a lot of nude neutral nails this winter. While deep purples and oxblood reds are still a beauty staple, nude nails will be major because sometimes less is more. Besides having a subtle polished look, the big perk of nude polish is the longevity.

Dark nail polish is visibly chip-free one to two days maximum. Nude polish lasts longer because when it does chip it takes some time before it is actually noticeable. For a reluctant manicurist like me, this is the ideal color to use.

When picking a nude color, try to choose a color that is close to your skin tone. What works for your friend may not work for you. To get the real nude effect you need to be sure the color is really close to your complexion.  Clinique has launched  16 Shades of Beige which includes a nude nail enamel collection with eight nude shades to choose from. So my suggestion would definitely be to start there!
