Visited this Dutch museum and got to see and photograph a Meteor for the first time.  The Gloster Meteor was the first British jet fighter and the Allies’ only operational jet aircraft during the Second World War.  The Meteor first flew in 1943 and remained in service into the 1980’s.   The F.8 variant was the primary frontline fighter in RAF squadron service, 1950–54.   As of 2013, two Meteors, WL419 and WA638, remain in active service with the Martin-Baker company as ejection seat testbeds.  Nikon D7100 w/18-200 mm, processing with Aperture.
