Glossybox-August-2013

So here is the August 2013 Glossybox! Offering a mixture of products for hair, skin and eyes, the High-flyers box introduces a number of products from around the globe. For £10 + P+P, you can get your Glossybox here. See what I got and what it’s worth.

Eucerin-Aquaphor

Eucerin Aquaphor, 200ml full size worth £8.50.

This is an American cream ideal for people with dry skin, and supports the regeneration process. I don’t have dry skin anywhere so haven’t found a use for this cream. It does smell nice and spreads well, but I won’t be using it. In fact, I have an unused spare of this cream which I’ll be selling for £6 including P+P. If you’re interested please leave a comment.

Emilte-eyelash-curlers

Emite Make Up Eyelash Curler, full size worth £20.

These are Swedish eyelash curlers developed for professional make up artists. They come with a number of replacement red pads. I can’t believe they cost so much…

Jelly-Pong-Pong-2-in-1-eyeshadow-and-eyeliner

Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 Eyeliner/Shadow, full size worth £10.50.

I think most people who receive Glossybox dread it when they receive a Jelly Pong Pong product, and I definitely fall within that camp. Their products are generally cheap and nasty, and this one is too. Certainly isn’t worth £10.50!

Glossybox-August-2013-Tresemme-Platinum-Strength

TRESemmé Platinum Strength treatment shot, 15ml full size worth £1.49.

I don’t mind TRESemmé, in fact it can be quite nice to have a high street brand in this box, but this one is really small and can only be used once which is disappointing. I’ll give it a go though as it seems simple enough to use.

Glossybox-August-2013-Oceane-Make-Up-Remover

Océane make up remover pen, full size, price unknown.

This Brazilian make up remover seems to work quite well, and it’s good that it comes with replacement tips. It isn’t yet available to buy in the UK.

Total box value: £40.49 + Océane make up remover pen

Overall I’m not massively fussed about this box. Whilst it’s great to see that all the products are full size this month, I doubt I would choose to buy any of them, or even recommend any of them.

I won’t use the Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 Shadow/Liner because the color looks like I’ve got an eye infection, and I don’t use eye lash curlers, and I’ve already got a full sized version of the Eucerin Aquaphor cream. I might use the TRESemmé Platinum Strength treatment, but seeing as you can only use it once it’s not really a great addition to the box. The thing I would probably use most is the Océane make up remover pen, but it’s not something I would typically choose to buy, or indeed carry around with me.

I hope others enjoyed their boxes more than I did, but it did seem like August 2013 was a bit of a wash-out month for Glossybox. Fingers crossed for September!
