What happens when you combine Glass Animals’ cavernous synths and Tei Shi’s gauzy voice? You get “Holiest”, a brand new collaboration so chilling you may find even your finest baby hairs standing on end. The core of the track is quite simple, with sparse drums and Tei Shi (Valerie Teicher) singing in harmony with herself, but there are embellishments throughout the song adding texture and color to the melodic base. Sometimes distortions, sometimes the tinkling of a synth, or a background vocal echo, these additions ensure that no two moments in the three minute song are exactly the same.  “Holiest” appears on Glass Animals’ EP Gooey, released just yesterday.
