Ghosts That We Knew

Ghosts That We Knew
'So give me hope in the darkness that I will see the light'Cause oh that gave me such a frightBut I will hold on with all of my mightJust promise me we'll be alright'
Ain't nothin' like some 'deep' verse to get you thinkin'. Like I mentioned in my previous post - last night we went to watch Mumford & Sons at the Echo and it was super fun. Sometimes all you need after a crappy couple of days is to wander round the Christmas markets, eat Mexican food and jump around to a bit of banjo and double bass with one of your besties - which is exactly what we did.
Post main event though, we also ended up getting all 'serious' - talking over the different ways lyrics can be interpreted and what they mean to people (that's what happens when you've had one too many blackberry gins I'm afraid!). And so, after much deliberation this is what I determined the evening's sing alongs taught me.
There's nothing wrong in doing your best to change something - to try to prove someone wrong. There's nothing wrong with holding onto hope - in 'wishing on a star' as a good friend of mine once told me ;) And there's nothing wrong with doing all you can to avoid the things you know will only trigger bad reactions - to remain blissfully ignorant if you will. Just make sure you're doing it for you, and don't put anything else on hold in the meantime.
If you truly believe in something, if you want it that much - if your faith in it is that strong - it'll happen. Sooner or later, you'll get what it is you deserve. And if you don't, just keep wishing.
