These offensive-zone tendencies break down what play each player attempts when in possession of the puck in the offensive-zone. These tendencies are also tracked in the neutral, and defensive-zones. The percentage represents how often (the percentage of times) the player has attempted that particular play. Only even-strength events that have occurred since the Olympic break are included in these graphs.
BRENDAN GALLAGHER
Brendan Gallagher's puck-possession tendencies in the offensive-zone point to a player who puts himself in a position to score goals. He produces far fewer pass attempts to the slot than other wingers simply because he is usually in the slot himself. He also attempts to shoot more often than other players because many of his possessions occur while in a scoring position.
- Gallagher has attempted to pass the puck to a teammate in the slot only 4.4% of the time he has had possession of the puck in the offensive-zone; compared to 12% for all of the Habs wingers.
- Gallagher has attempted a cycle pass 30.8% of the time he has had possession of the puck in the offensive-zone; compared to 30.3% of the time for all of the Habs wingers.
- Gallagher has attempted to pass the puck off of the rush (controlled entry into the offensive-zone) 6.6% of the time he has had possession of the puck in the offensive-zone; compared to 6.7% for all Habs wingers.
- Gallagher has attempted an east/west pass in the offensive-zone 1.1% of the time he has had possession of the puck in the offensive-zone; compared to 3.4% for Habs wingers.
- Gallagher has attempted to beat an opposition player 1on1 (deke) in open ice 20.9% of the time he has had possession of the puck in the offensive-zone; compared to only 15.9% for Habs wingers.
- Gallagher has attempted to beat an opposition player 1on1 (deke) along the boards 5.5% of the time he has had possession of the puck in the offensive-zone; compared to 7.5% for Habs wingers.
- Gallagher has attempted a shot on net 30.8% of the time he has had possession of the puck in the offensive-zone; compared to 24.1% for Habs wingers.
