FROCKTOBER Week 2 for Ovarian Cancer

By Steph's Scribe @stephverni

I’ve been hit with a pretty miserable cold this week, but I powered through, so I didn’t get to post last week’s outfits on Sunday. I’m coming out of the illness now–the change of season always gets to me–and I’m sharing what I wore for Week 2 of Frocktober.

Thank you to those of you who have donated to Ovarian Cancer. These brave women need our support, and that’s what FROCKTOBER is all about–to help raise awareness of this disease. You can still help by clicking here and making a donation of any size. THANK YOU.

Here’s what I wore last week. I hit the mid-point of my 31-days of fashion, and will share this past week’s outfits on Sunday. If you want to follow along daily, connect with me on INSTAGRAM at stephanie.verni !

🙂

Cheers!

FROCKTOBER | Day 8
“Women who wear black lead colorful lives.” – Neiman Marcus

A black dress with open bell sleeves paired with these leopard heels = my go-to for a night out. Looking forward to a couple of events this week when this dress may come in handy! Cheers!

Looking ahead at the week’s weather, it looks like our warm days are numbered, so we’re still enjoying the porch and meals outside as much as we can. Therefore, today’s #ootd is overall shorts (I love these so much), striped flouncy tee-shirt, and over-the-knee boots. Fall break has been great for grading and getting caught up on work.

#FROCKTOBER is fun, but writing books is even more fun! I’ll be hosting a workshop as part of ArtsAlive! with the @stevensonulib on November 1 at 6 pm for anyone interested in self-publishing. Claire Moore Room, Owings Mills Campus. We’ll be kicking off #nanowrimo – National Novel Writing Month. No matter what you’re working on–novel, nonfiction, memoir, or poetry–we are here to help! Hope to see you!!!

FROCKTOBER | Day 10
On campus today; tonight on the town seeing @mitchalbom with @elizabeth_johnson3 and @chiprouse. The Spartina scarf is from California and the bag was a gift from my kids. Spartina’s original store is in Bluffton–and it’s so pretty.

FROCKTOBER | Day 11
Decided on a casual look today for campus because of this rainy day. Do you ever just feel like not wearing a dress and doing your hair? That’s me today. Still on a high after hearing one of my favorite #authors last night — @mitchalbom . Pressing on with my new WIP and starting to get even more excited about #nanowrimo — who’s in?

FROCKTOBER | Day 12
Finally, autumn has arrived, and with it, a good little wind (as you’ll see in photo 2, as @tiny_tonti tried to take my photo on campus this afternoon with a sturdy breeze! Thanks, Claudia!) I purchased this cute cold-shoulder sweater dress in California at Francesca’s in La Jolla Cove. I’ve been waiting for the cooler weather to wear it. The wine colored boots are from @dsw. Now it really feels like pumpkin and witches weather! Where’s my pumpkin spice latte?

FROCKTOBER | Day 13
Mixing it up today with a leopard cardigan, yellow skirt, and a black fringed wrap with tall boots. It’s chilly–and I love it! Don’t forget, these 31 days are to spread awareness for #ovariancancer – so please consider giving to this worthwhile cause.

FROCKTOBER | Day 14
I’ve been wanting to take Ellie to see Les Miserables for years, and today we finally made that happen. Despite sitting next to two people who showed up 25 minutes late, talked the whole way through the show, and were drunk (she spilled wine all over me), we still managed to enjoy our afternoon in Baltimore at the @hippodromebway and the show and cast were fantastic! This show never gets old and I’ve lost count as to just how many performances I’ve seen over the years. Dress is from @whbm – broke out the velvet today.
