Foolish Games by Jewel.

Posted on the 13 October 2012 by Melodicwisdom

We all hate games, especially in relationships. We hate being lied to. We hate feeling like there’s something the other person isn’t telling us. We hate feeling like we can’t trust them. Unfortunately, almost all of us go through this at some point. Today’s song touches on this topic.

Foolish Games was released as a single in July of 1997 from Jewel’s debut album, Pieces of You. It was the final single from the album and was included on the Batman & Robin soundtrack. The lyrics describe a girl who cares more for a guy than he cares for her and he continually hurts her.

The track went to #2 on Billboard’s Hot 100, #1 on Billboard’s Pop Songs and Adult Pop Songs.

Above is a live performance from 1997.

These foolish games are tearing me apart, and your thoughtless words are breaking my heart. You’re breaking my heart…
