FOLLOW SAN FERMIN DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE WITH ‘EMILY’ [STREAM] Pause San Fermin – Emily SoundCloud

Leave it to San Fermin’s Ellis Ludwig-Leone to compose a song that’s melancholy, yet catchy; lethargic, yet danceable; lonely, yet sexy. There’s no other way to describe San Fermin’s new single from their highly-anticipated sophomore album Jackrabbit, out April 21st. Unlike the album’s manic first single, “Parasite”, “Emily” is somber. The track features vocalist Allen Tate singing about welcoming loneliness in spite of, or perhaps because of, the way it makes him feel, backed by a pulsing beat and a keyboard chord drawl. As the chorus hits and the song builds, we see a beautiful complexity reminiscent of all Ludwig-Leone’s compositions. Charlene Kaye’s sultry harmonies emerge, as do swells of horns and sax, and Tate croons about falling “down, down the rabbit hole.” About this track, Ludwig-Leone says “I knew that I wanted to write a song that people could dance to, and I thought, what undercuts that feeling the most?”
