Feature Friday: Glass Elephant

Posted on the 19 December 2014 by Music Creates Us @musiccreatesus

Brooklyn indie group Glass Elephant recently released their new, self-titled EP last month. Since they’ve received high praise for their debut album, Atlantic, we knew we wouldn’t be disappointed.

The band, which fully formed in the summer of 2012, is comprised of multi-instrumentalist Russ Flynn, drummer Danny Wolf, guitarist Sam Petitti, and bassist Jackson Hill. They have become regulars in their hometown and frequent venues like Rockwood Music Hall, Cameo Gallery, and Glasslands.

The band’s music is very similar to their name; “formidable yet fragile,” as Flynn described in a recent interview. Hailing from Bushwick, a solid music community, Glass Elephant has succeeded in showcasing their guitar-driven rock sound. Just like Atlantic, the EP is completely self recorded, produced, and mixed. The EP opens strong with “El Dorado,” with Flynn’s smooth, country-tinged vocals shining through. Another standout is “Toledo,” the first single from the EP which you can download now for free for a limited time only.

Find Glass Elephant available for streaming and purchase on BandCamp and iTunes now.
