Story: Fear and Loathing in Aspen starts as we meet writer Hunter S Thompson (Bulger) working on his latest book in Pitkin County. However, when he starts seeing things wrong around the area, he decides to run for Sheriff.

As Hunter’s campaign starts gathering momentum, he believes he could start winning the race. This sees him creating a movement that could allow a more free-thinking person to take over a local area.

Verdict on Fear and Loathing in Aspen

Fear and Loathing in Aspen is a biopic comedy that sees a journalist run to become sheriff. This sees him leading an unlikely campaign that could change how elections are handled.

The movie gets to dive into the 1970s election between two, a traditional sheriff and someone outside the field. It sees him getting involved in the campaign and moving forward with the idea of change. However, this doesn’t get to come off as slick as it wants to. The comedy misses more often than not and by the end you will have missed most of the events.

Final Thoughts Fear and Loathing in Aspen is a flat comedy filled with unlikeable characters.
