Ezra Furman proved to be a powerful force in the music world while performing at Bowery Ballroom this week. Furman’s uniquely raw and sentimental lyrics are truly inspiring, and his old-school rock sound makes for an incredible performance. Taking the stage in big sunglasses, lipstick and pearls, Ezra charmed the crowd. He made short banter between songs, but the band truly played their hearts out, rocking favorites like “Lousy Connection” and “And Maybe God is a Train”. They also played a cover of Nirvana’s “In Bloom”. Overall, the show was full of energy; Ezra Furman is a fantastic entertainer and I can’t wait to see him play again.
