Plot: After barely surviving his grievous wounds from his mission in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Tyler Rake is back, and his team is ready to take on their next mission.

Story: Extraction 2 starts with Tyler Rake (Hemsworth) going through an extensive recovery process after the injuries in the last mission. Nearly one-year-later Tyler has been living off the grid with his animals. He gets a visit for a new job, putting his team Nik (Farahani) and Yaz (Bessa) back together.

The job sees him taking on a ruthless gang from Georgia, run by the Radiani brothers. Tyler must break their family out of prison, which would see the whole Radiani army come for him. Against the odds, he must use his skills to escape the situation once again.

Verdict on Extraction 2

Extraction 2 is an all-out action sequel following Tyler Rake and his team Nik and Yaz Khan on a daring rescue mission. This time things get more personal, as he must rescue his former sister-in-law and her children from a ruthless militant gangster. It sees the team taking on massive odds to get the family to freedom.

After the first movie, it was hard to see how they could bring Tyler back again. However, they did with the whole indestructible military figure. It does work as we get more extraordinary action sequences, including an exceptional single-take fight sequence. The two movies have always excelled in the action stakes, and we know exactly what we will be getting. Although, the second location for the sequences doesn’t feel as intense and perilous compared to the actual war zone we went through in the first movie.

Chris Hemsworth and Golshifteh Farahani are both excellent in action-heavy roles. A mention of the stunt team and the choreography for the fight sequences are a must, they deserve all the praise. This is a jaw-dropping action sequel that uses a relentless style throughout the movie.
