Story: Expend4bles starts when a new terrorist group led by Rahmat (Uwais) steals some nuclear detonators, leaving a host of bodies behind him. The new CIA connection Marsh (Garcia) recruits the Expendables to go on a mission to retrieve them.

However, the team is different, with Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham), Gunner (Lundgren) and Toll (Couture) returning. The new members Gina (Fox), Easy Day (50 Cent), Galan (Scipio) and Decha (Jaa) must learn to work together to stop the new threat.

Verdict on Expend4bles

Expend4bles is the fourth installment of the franchise, which follows ‘iconic’ action stars fighting a new threat. However, things get out of hand and now they must figure out how to stop a major incident before it is too late.

So, let’s start this off with some positives because there aren’t many. The movie has returned to a more adult theme, which is what made most of the biggest stars famous in the past. This brings back the bloody action that made the first one stand out more.

On to the negatives, the story is as thin as usual, but this feels even thinner than before. It doesn’t have enough of the regular more famous action stars returning. Or even recruiting other big action stars from the past. Even though the addition of Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais was great, they feel underused, despite Uwais being the main villain. In the end, this feels like the weakest the franchise has offered up and ends up not delivering on anything it could have given us.

Final ThoughtsExpend4bles is a disappointing addition to the franchise.
