DPRK state media reported on 2 December (Monday) that Premier Pak Pong Ju visited the Anju Coal Mining Complex and Kanggye, Chagang Province.  Pak visited the Hwap’ung Coal Mine of the Anju Coal Mining Complex in South P’yo’ngan Province.  He held a meeting with the mine’s managers and employees which “underlined the position and role of the complex and took measures for concentrating efforts on increasing coal production and called on the relevant domains to supply electricity and materials necessary for coal production on a preferential basis.”

Pong Pong Ju also visited Kanggye, Chagang Province where he saw the construction of the Chagang Province gymnasium, Changjagang People’s Pleasure Park, Inp’ung Garden and toured the Kanggye Winery, Kangye Pig Farm, Hungchu Chicken Farm and Kanggye Wood Processing Factory.  Pak held a meeting with local officials which, according to KCNA, “underscored the need for the industrial establishments in Kanggye City to glorify the immortal exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng) and leader Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il) and work out a right business strategy and put enterprise management on a scientific basis as required by their actual conditions” and “took measures for increasing the competitiveness of products and comprehensive utility rate of timber, putting the breeding and care of domestic animals on a scientific basis and sufficiently supplying materials needed for city construction.”
