Every year the Collings Foundation stops by here on their annual Wings of Freedom Tour. What made this year different was the addition of their Skyraider to the tour. Manufactured from 1945 to 1957, Douglas Aircraft built over 3,000 Skyraiders. Equipped with 15 hardpoints, this aircraft could carry 8,000 lbs of ordnance (same as a B-17). The Collings Skyraider was delivered to the US Navy in 1955, sent to a boneyard in 1959, then reinstated for the Vietnam War and modified to A-1E configuration for training and utility duties and went back to the boneyard in 1970.  Nikon D7100 w/18-200mm.
