Don't Blame Habs Defensemen for Struggles

Montreal Canadiens defensemen are the only group of positional-players that have produced a defensive-zone takeaway to turnover ratio against the Boston Bruins that is even close to the one they earned against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
In fact, Habs d-men have produced a d-zone T-to-T ratio above their season average through the first two games of the Boston series. Mike Weaver, Josh Gorges, and Alexei Emelin have produced takeaway-to-turnover ratios in the d-zone against the Bruins that are higher than both their season averages, and the numbers they produced during the regular season.
Tomas Plekanec and David Desharnais are the only Habs centres to have higher T-to-T ratios against Boston than the ratios they earned against Tampa, while Brandon Prust, Thomas Vanek, Dale Weise, and Michael Bournival are the only wingers to do the same.
As a group, Montreal wingers' d-zone takeaway-to-turnover ratios have been substantially lower against the Bruins than they were against the Lightning.
