Corning recently expanded their market for Gorilla Glass by adding its’ scratch-resistant display technology to touchscreen laptops. But, it seems like they have had bigger plans than smartphones and laptops because now they wants to go Gorilla all over vehicles as BMW is preparing to add Gorilla Glass protected windshields to their new cars.

According to Ubergizmo, these Gorilla Glass windshields won’t be arriving to all the vehicles around the world anytime soon. BMW is still testing these on its’ BMW i8. The company believes that this “chemically hardened material” will help to suppress the sound from coming inside the vehicle, allowing passengers to enjoy a quiet ride.

I just wish those windshields to be converted into touchscreen devices before adding Gorilla Glass but, still it would be a great improvement to protect windshields from scratches, don’t you think?
