Last night was the Season 3 premiere for Downton Abbey and what a premiere it was! I loved the women’s dresses, especially Mary’s wedding dress. It was so simple, and it reminded me of a fluttering butterfly. Shirley MacLaine’s character, Martha Levinson, had me laughing at her antics and dialog. She seemed to own every scene she was in, so strong was her performance!
The popularity of Downton Abbey has been an inspiration to alot of designers and homeowners, tempting them into decorating their rooms to mimic those of the Abbey. In looking at the show last night I saw some really nice designs that I thought could be incorporated into almost any existing decor. So today I put together some designs that I think are a modern version to those of the Edwardian decorations portrayed in the show. They’re so beautiful and colorful! I could easily see these looking great in any remodeling project.
