Dayanna Volitich Predicts Manchester City’s Season

By Abitoflux @abitoflux

Manchester City set the Premier League on fire last year and on their way to winning the title they managed to smash just about every Premier League record set by any team before them. The question that remained during the summer however was whether or not anyone could match what  City had done, or indeed whether City could improve on what they have done. My friend and fellow football fan Dayanna Volitich think that this season could be another good one for the blue side of Manchester and here are her predictions as to where City will be come the end of the season.

Premier League

There is no question in our minds that Manchester City will once again be crowned Champions of England, the only question is whether or not anyone will be able to beat them. My friend believes that this will be the season which will see a team match what Arsenal did in 2001/2, when they went through the entire season unbeaten. Manchester City were too good for just about everyone last year, with their only losses coming against Crystal Palace and Liverpool. This year City are expected to go one further and win the league at a canter, remaining unbeaten throughout.

Champions League

The Champions League has eluded Manchester City thus far and in the last 2 years they have had very poor campaigns. This year however looks set to be their year as Pep Guardiola finally has the perfect team in place, all of whom have bought in to his philosophy. With Real Madrid faltering so far this year, Bayern Munich failing to impress domestically and Barcelona and Liverpool providing the only real threats. Manchester City will win the Champions League this year and add their first piece of European silverware to the cabinet.

Domestic Cups

Manchester City have advanced to the quarter finals of the League Cup and they will surely progress far in the FA Cup as well. The bold prediction from my fellow football fan here is that Manchester City will actually compete the quadruple this year, wining the league, the Champions League and both European cups, something which Pep has never achieved. The reason behind this is simply that whilst most teams may field weaker sides in the cup competitions to give youth and reserve players a chance, Manchester City have youth and reserve players that could probably get into the first 11 in most teams throughout the world. This team is absolutely spectacular and just like he did at Barcelona, Guardiola has ensured that his side are on a different planet to everyone else.

Record Breaking

Not only are we predicting the quadruple for Manchester City, we also believe that they will break their goal scoring and points tally records which they set last year. To hit 106 points last year was incredible but when they finish the season unbeaten, we could see even more points on the board than that. Th eBlues are already ahead in the stats this year compared with this time last year, and that only looks set to continue.

What are your thoughts on our predictions?
