The F-102 was America’s first supersonic interceptor. The Deuce had a long service life, first fielded in 1956, it remained in service until 1976.  The last QF-102A / PQM-102B drone was expended in 1986.  This radical aircraft was the first production aircraft with a delta wing, pioneering aerodynamics in the transonic flight realm from Mach .8 to Mach 1.2.  This particular F-102A flew with the Hawaii Air National Guard.  Nikon D500 w/18-200mm, processed with Aperture.
