June 20th marks the official start of Summer 2016. It’s time to get excited for baseball games, cookouts, camping, and all the other fun activities that summer brings!

Be sure to get your fridge summer-ready by stocking up on beers that are great for warm weather. Longer days and more hours of sunlight means more time to enjoy your favorite beverages with friends and family. Therefore, summer is the perfect time for session beers. What exactly are “session” beers? Sessionable beers are 5% alcohol by volume (ABV) or less. The idea behind these beers is that one can drink several of them during a “session” without becoming too intoxicated.

Lagunitas Daytime Ale (a “Fractional IPA”) is a great choice for those who like hoppy beers but not the higher alcohol content that often comes with them. Daytime has all the flavor of an IPA yet its ABV is just 4.65%.

Looking for a good session beer but not into hops? Try the latest seasonal from New BelgiumHeavy Melon (5% ABV). Brewed with with watermelon and lime peel, this beer captures the essence of summer. Lightly sweet, easy-drinking, and full of fresh melon flavor, Heavy Melon is the ideal way to cool off on those hot days.

Not only does summer mean road trips and afternoons at the pool, it’s also the time when some of the most delicious fruits are in season. While Heavy Melon is a wonderful lighter fruit beer, there are also some strong, bold beers brewed with fruit that are definitely worth trying.

Epic Brewing’s Brainless® On Peaches is a big beer, weighing in at 10.8% ABV. This Belgian-style ale is brewed with peach puree and aged in French Chardonnay casks. While it’s high in alcohol, it comes in a bomber (22 oz. bottle), making it an excellent beer to share with a friend while indulging in a fresh peach (or any fruit) cobbler.

For sour beer fans, Avery Brewing’s Raspberry Sour is the perfect accompaniment to a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with fresh raspberries. Or pair it with a rich chocolate brownie; chocolate and raspberry is always a winning combination! The sourness of the beer and the sweetness of the desserts complement each other nicely.

Get these beers (and much more) delivered in an hour or less with Drizly alcohol delivery service.* Party at your place and running low on booze? In addition to the speed and convenience of Drizly, it is a safe option for those who may have had one too many to get behind the wheel.
