And it’s Ruby Rose!

Casting News | The Arrow-verse Finds Its BatwomanIn Tuesday’s announcement, The CW confirmed it had found its Batwoman in Ruby Rose and are now sharing the first promotional image to mark the news.

It’s fitting that it was shared on Arrow’s official Twitter account considering it was Arrow star Stephen Amell who first announced that Batwoman would be coming to this year’s Arrow-verse crossover during The CW upfronts presentation back in May.

The character will make her first appearance as part of The CW’s annual DC Arrow-verse crossover event in December. Rose also is set to play the role in the Batwoman series the CW has in development for next season.

While the project is still in its scripting stage, with a star of Rose’s caliber attached and DC Universe architect Greg Berlanti behind it, it is likely to go to pilot and series. If picked up for full series, it would likely debut for the 2019 TV season.

Rose is best known for her breakout role in Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black as Stella Carlin in the series’ third season. She has also appeared in Resident Evil: Final Chapter, John Wick: Chapter Two, and Pitch Perfect 3. She will next appear in The Meg, which opens in theaters this Friday.
