Apparently news of Emmy nominations travels fast! Carrie Preston (Arlene Fowler) told People Magazine that she started getting a text from someone she didn’t know saying “Congratulations!” It wasn’t until she received a photo of her best friend crying that she decided to give her a call and that’s how she found out. By the time Preston’s publicist called to confirm the news, it was already starting to sink in.

Carrie is married to actor Michael Emerson who currently stars on the show Person of Interest and has been nominated several times. In fact they’ve been to the Emmys so many times, they have their own little tradition. Fact: At the Emmys attendees are not fed. So Preston and Emerson make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to take with them to eat after they finish walking the red carpet. But according to Preston’s Twitter feed, the snacks were confiscated at the door via a picture with a caption that read:

“Security took away our Scoobie snacks at the #CreativeArtsEmmys Noooooo!”

Since Carrie ended up winning, something tells us no peanut butter and jelly ended up not detracting from the sweetness of the night. Congratulations on your win!
