Emmy Nominiations

Well Truebies once again our favorite show has been snubbed by the Emmy’s.  True Blood earned a nomination for Outstanding Art Direction for a Single Camera Series for Season 5, Episode 3 ‘Whatever I am, You Made Me’.  This is the episode where Tara (Rutina Wesley) ran away from Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) after being turned into a vampire and she then tried to commit suicide by tanning bed.  Tara also tells Alcide (Joe Manganiello) that Sookie killed Debbie Pelt in this episode.  Sadly True Blood didn’t receive any acting nominations.

In other news Carrie Preston, who plays waitress Arlene Fowler on True Blood, earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her recurring role on ABC‘s ‘The Good Wife’.  Preston plays Elsbeth Tascioni, a flaky lawyer who comes across as being completely without substance but is actually quite brilliant with the law.  This is Carrie’s first Emmy nomination.

Alfre Woodard, who played Lafayette’s crazy mother on True Blood, was also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Mini Series or Movie for her role in the remake of the movie ‘Steel Magnolias’.

If you missed the telecast of the nominations and want to catch up you can watch them by clicking here.

We here at True Blood Fan Source would like to offer our sincere congratulations to Carrie, Alfre and of course the True Blood Art Direction team.  We will be rooting for you!
