Mother’s Day is in three days – have you figured out a gift yet? On Tuesday, we talked about practical gifts designed for your mother’s health and safety. Today, we have a list of more sentimental gifts and warming gestures that’ll show your mother how much she means to you.

  • Take her out for a short trip, whether it be to the mall, park, or botanical gardens. Let your mother get some fresh air and enjoy the scenery. Don’t try to pack too many activities at once, however; it might get be too overwhelming.
  • Tend to her garden. Remove stubborn weeds and plant her favorite flowers. If your mother doesn’t have a yard, decorate her living space with some fresh floral arrangements. Write messages or inspirational quotes on the vase or pot.
  • Capture memories! Life can get busy fast, and before you know, the most recent photos you have with your mother and rest of the family are from years ago. Take nice family portraits and fun photos with silly faces. Family photos are always a great way to take a trip down memory lane.
  • Make homemade cards. Whip out some colorful pens, markers, and crayons and go on an art kick. Get the entire family, including spouse, children (yes, even the baby), and siblings, to participate. Include photos, fun drawings, and thoughtful messages. Homemade cards are always better than store bought cards.
  • Watch her favorite movies or TV shows. Ask your mother what she used to watch as a child. This makes for a great night-in if your loved one gets easily tired or is unable to go out on long outings.
