You make a good point, and I think I didn’t express what I mean accurately. Romanticized wasn’t the right word. Schmoopy is more like it, lol. It’s the lovey-dovey “I always need you” “You’ve awakened something in me” lines and the way they play their theme song every time they’re in a scene together that makes me gag and tune out of their scenes. In the show, I find Sookie and Bill most interesting when they’re not in the same scene.

And I guess it doesn’t help that I don’t see their love as being a true love. Even in the books I didn’t. To me, it was based on lies so it may have been love, but not true love. Again, this is totally just my opinion. In the books, I don’t think Sookie’s ever had true love, and I don’t know if she’ll ever have it. Love, yes. True love, no.
