Big Time Baseball News, Jim Leyland Is Stepping Down As Detroit Tigers Manager

By Ceboscuit @ceboscuit

Via NBCSports (and Ken Rosenthal): This is big. Ken Rosenthal of Fox reports that Tigers manager Jim Leyland is stepping down. Rosenthal says that he told the team after end of ALCS on Saturday. The Tigers have called a news conference for 11:30 AM this morning.

This is kind of a big deal.  One of the best teams in the league with one of the highest payrolls in the league will be searching for a new guy to run the show.  This job will be fire hot since this is a potential World Series team almost every year.  They have some of the best players in the major leagues (Miggy Cabrera, Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer) and a bunch of other really good players.  This is really crazy news if you ask me.  Leyland has been the leader of the renaissance in Detroit and whoever takes over will have some HUGE shoes to fill.
