Best Gift Ever

Best Gift EverBest Gift EverBest Gift Ever
We are cloaked in the smell of gingerbread baking.  It is 4F outside and inside the fireplace is hot and glowing.  Out the window and across at the park, geese lay in rows like soldiers on a blanket of frozen white snow.  The sound of Theo's voice brings me back to the moment.  It's about the Rainbow Loom again.
"Mom, if you get me a Rainbow Loom for Christmas you will be my Queen."
Sully chimes in.
"THeo, Mom is NOT a queen.  She is our Mom."
Theo says.
"Sully, a queen is the highest form of a mom."
I listen and smile a mile wide inside.
Each night when I tuck them into bed and kiss the tops of their heads I tell them that they are the best gift I've ever been given.  Nothing could be better.  Absolutely nothing.
