Besides the fast-movers at NAF El Centro, there was a bit of helicopter traffic all day as Marine units came in to refuel before flying home to MCAS Miramar. Here is a Viper banking away after hovering for the gathered photographers. Based on the AH-1W SuperCobra, the Viper is the latest in a very long line of Cobra gunships. First flown in 2000, the aircraft is in production with 52 in Marine Corps service. Nikon D500 w/18-200mm, processed with Aperture.
