Trying out new makeup makes me happy, especially when it exceeds your expectations, like this lot…Obviously, Models Own have always been known for their stunning nail polishes. Featuring an abundance of shades in their range, and having their giant polish pod around the UK, they are a brand firmly solidified in the Nail market. But now the tables have turned and they’ve begun to branch out, by releasing a makeup range.
From eye shadows to lipsticks, to bronzers, they pretty much have almost everything covered. Off I went products in hand to try and create a look with some new goodies. I started off with the Eyebrow Pencil and Blender Duo (£7.99) to define and strengthen my brows. The color was slightly too light, but it didn’t matter all that much as the pencil was brilliant. It was creamy enough to allow for an easy application but stiff enough to create any lines that were needed without making the brow too messy. I picked up the Starry Eyed Eyeshadow Palette (£14.99) in excitement because LOOK AT THOSE SHADES! Granted, I didn’t create anything too crazy, but the packaging is just adorable. I used the bronze shade throughout the crease and outer lid before applying the pale pink on the inner half of the lid. I then used the purple shade to darken the outer lid and bottom lash line and I adored it. Can I wear purple eye shadow every day? The shades were packed with a punch of pigmentation and blended seamlessly without being too chalky.
As my holiday tan is fading (SOB!), I needed to add some life and color into my skin, so I reached for the Contouring Bronzing Powder (£8.99), which is in this cute little compact. I was a tad sceptical of the shade, but armed with an angled brush and an overconfident hand, I sculpted my cheekbones into something Kimmy K would have applauded. The shade is actually rather neutral, which is great for warmth and shadow – purrfect! A little bit of the Sculpt and Glow Liquid Highlighter (£9.99) and I was some sort of golden goddess (I wish!). Finally, I decided to see what this Lip Gunk Gloss (£10.99) was all about. Looking pretty similar to the OCC Lip Tars, I utilised the little dish and brush to apply the product, which was almost icing like. Alas, a little bit sticky at first, once the product settled, it was beautiful. The little brush made it so easy to apply, despite me thinking it was going to be a little bit faffy!
