Northallerton is a little market-town just thirty minutes from where I live. It's a beautiful countryside drive and super picturesque when you arrive with its mismatched buildings and cobbles. I haven't visited there for some time, so The Potting Shed launch was the perfect opportunity!
Built on a former hospital, its multiple elegant rooms, roof terrace and amazing colourful selection of garden sheds make it an adorable, yet cool place for some food and a cheeky cocktail.
I was completely flabbergasted (yeah, that's right) at just how big this venue is. There is room after room of beautiful decor and character, I honestly wouldn't know where to place myself.
Wait. Yes, I do. The Potting Sheds because CUTE.
We arrived and received a complimentary small glass of fizz and a VVIP wristband each. You ever heard of a DOUBLE VIP?!
With free drinks and canapes all evening, I was devastated that I decided to be designated driver for the night. (NOTE: Let boyfriend drive to all the blogger events).
After a wander around to get our bearings, we decided to head to the bar to grab ourselves another drink. With an abundance of cocktails, spirits, wines, and ales to choose from we were overwhelmed by choice.
I decided on a Raspberry Collins which icy, fruity goodness went down a treat in the garden whilst we awaited canapes to start circulating.
I was super excited to try some of the foodie delights they had on offer but only managed to try a small handful of the samples circulating due to the sheer capacity of the event.
(NOTE: Seat self next to the kitchen.)
But what we did try, was bloody delicious.
We managed to snag ourselves a piece of garlic ciabatta. Marsh had a mini slice of meat feast pizza and I grabbed a little shepherds pie in a Yorkshire pudding.
THANK YOU TO WHOEVER DECIDED THAT IS A THING. I'ma make these at home.
The little canapes we did try made me want more. I can't wait to head back there at some point for a full on meal experience.
Where is your favorite place for a cocktail and meal in your area?
