Well Bear’s Den is certainly having a killer 2015 so far, and it’s barely spring. Riding high off the release of their beautifully orchestrated video for “Agape”, they’ve now paired their somber funk on the always-pleasing Sylvan Esso track “Coffee”. Much like you’d expect, Bear’s Den takes the Durham-based synth duo’s original idea and gives it that folky panache that will warrant this one to be played best while cruising down a newly paved bike lane (pure bliss, we know). The London trio formulates their sound perfectly to bring the longing drag of the hooks and emotional build of “Coffee” into their own version while adding a new level of creativity — making it their own while paying homage to the original work.
