BADBADNOTGOOD is a jazz trio from Toronto that is much admired by many key hip-hop players such as Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt, MF Doom, Pharaoh Monch and RZA. The group – Matthew Tavares on the keys, Chester Hansen on bass, and Alex Sowinski on drums – have just done an excellent remix of Freddie Gibbs & Madlib’s “Shame” that shows off their many and varied skills. The original track is from Pińata, which is definitely one of the best hip-hop albums of the year so far and an album that is getting a lot of attention, which is a bit surprising for what is basically an underground hip-hop collaboration. But, that’s the internet for ya.

BBNG’s debut album III is out now, you can stream a track below, and then grab it at iTunes. I will assume if you are a reader of this site then you already have a copy of Pińata in heavy rotation, but if not get on it here. In the meantime stream and download the remix below and be prepared to hear a lot more from these guys in the future.
