The first track from Bad Anna, which includes Josh Stern of TRENPA, as well as members from favorites Ang Low and Wilsen, begins slowly but builds to a wonderfully cathartic finish. The music starts out almost saccharine and vocally fragile, but as layers slowly get piled on, it shifts to a feeling of ferocity. By the time the crashing cymbals and shoegazey guitar come in, the song has moved into something entirely different and much more complex than its humble yet interesting beginnings. It’s a wonderful track that perfectly synthesis the sounds from all the musicians involved, while still managing to sound completely apart.
