CES 2015 is in full swing, and yesterday, at its event, Asus unveiled two new smartphones – the Asus Zenfone 2 and the Zenfone Zoom.

The Asus Zenfone 2 comes with a 5.5” display and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (~403ppi), a 2.3GHz Intel Atom chipset, and 4GB of RAM – the first in the world of mobile phones. It offers dual-SIM/dual-active connectivity and LTE, and the handset is powered by a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging technology. This means that it can recharge up to 60% of its capacity in 39 minutes.

On the phone’s back is a 13-megapixel camera with True Tone flash, which gives the photos more accurate colors, and in the front is a 5-megapixel shooter that has an 85-degree field of view.

The Zenfone 2 runs on ZenUI, which is based on Android Lollipop, and the phone will become available in Q2 2015 in black, gold, gray, white, and red.

Zenfone Zoom

The Asus Zenfone Zoom sports a similar 5.5” 1080p display and a 13-megapixel camera, but the main difference is that it comes with a 3x optical zoom lens and OIS. All of its other specs are the same as the ones found in the Zenfone 2. It is also “the thinnest smartphone with a 3x optical zoom lens yet” (measures 11.95mm). Like the Zenfone 2, it will become available in Q2 2015, in black and white.
