Antovolk's Amazing Restoration Cut of Ridley Scott's Prometheus

Antovolk's amazing Restoration Cut of Ridley Scott's Prometheusit's not me doing the film reviewing this time, it's Nick of SciFi Film. An extended fan-edit version of Ridley Scott's Prometheus movie streamed last night, 11pm UK-time, created by AV-enthusiast Antovolk. When Ridley Scott submitted his original theatrical release version to 20th Century Fox about twenty minutes of material was excised from the 02:30:00 running time.
Last night's edit has been called a true Restoration Cut. Ridley's original theatrical cut was left untouched, as it appeared in cinemas through June 2012. Any deleted/alternative scenes, added as Extras on the recent bluray release, have been re-incorporated back into that theatrical print, extending the running time back towards Ridley's original submission cut. It's a very sensitive treatment of material, by all accounts, folding in scenes where possible and blending over with audio and recalculating lighting ranges where necessary.
I imagine Hollywood will be knocking on Antovolk's door such has been his professional approach to such a (legally ambiguous) fan-edit or hobbyist task.
The Debrief Scene

After breakfast, we have the debrief scene. It’s short, but it’s jam-packed; there’s a lot to catch in this scene, if you pay attention.

For starters, it’s one of the few scenes in the film where almost the entire crew is present (excluding Janek, who’s having breakfast). There’s 16 chairs pulled up in 2 groups of 8 and all of them are occupied, with the exception of two (one for Janek, though I’m not sure who the second one is for since Vickers clearly isn’t there to sit). Look at how their uniforms all differ from one another. The only two that match belong to the men sitting behind pilots Ravel and Chase: beige uniforms and caps with Weyland logos on them. Here's a detailed write up of last night's stream (which I missed) for all those who care about 'things being shown the way they were intended'.
For the rest of us, we'll have to wait for the official Director's Cut to be released by Fox some time nearer 2014/15 when Prometheus 2 (Paradise) is said to be slated for release.
