Hello Metalheads! I bring you today a great Thrash Metal band from Austria called Alforna, which has released a highly recommended first album entitled “Awake”.
After a view additions and departures of single members of the bands Encounter and Alforna, Mandi, Fize and Gernot (guitarist, bassist and drummer respectively) decided to start again in 2009 with new force and energy to develop their metal musical project, which was improved after Andi (guitarist) joined the band.
These guys were working hard in new material and they have created numerous new songs as a result of this new period full of creativity. Alforna’s line-up was complete soon by singer Daniel “Peaschtä” and guitarist Christof from Encounter band and this new project Alforna was ready to shake the ground with new energy and new material.
After a demo released in 2011 which contains five songs, Alforna continues their path and this great sextet from Kufstein bring us now their first full-length album “Awake”, released on December 2013. The album contains eight awesome tracks and two of them are sung in their own language from Tyrol region.
We can find in “Awake” album great and powerful songs like “Bullshit” or “War”, which are really demolisher tracks or the fantastic “Spit it Out” with a nice groove metal sound. “Schau Viere” is also a cool track which shows us a more melodic Daniel in some parts and he does really a great work on vocals, the changes of rhythm in this song are really nice.
“Wennst net des griagst” is another great song which is absolute dynamite exploting in your face, it’s great! “Seed” is a powerful song which is the perfect track to open Alforna’s shows it transmites you good vibrations and great energy, and “Select”, the fantastic end song in the album which really leaves you waiting more. After listening to the album I think that some more tracks in the album would be appreciated for all metalheads, but no doubt this is a great release.
I have left for the end the song which gives the album its title, “Awake” is really an amazing track with an impressive intro, a great melody and fantastic lyrics, I really love this track! it’s an excellent song which you can enjoy by clicking the following link.

These guys will offer a great show in Kufstein next month. Alforna was confirmed as support band for Sepultura, and they will play with Brazilian metallers on Friday 30th May at Kulturfabrick. Are you going to miss it?
