Eric Northman may have turned to the icy mountains of Sweden to soothe his grief, but his portrayer is going to be walking across the South Pole for a very worthy cause. Called Walking With the Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge, Alexander Skarsgård has joined the US Team. And he’s in good company. HRH Prince Harry has joined the British Team and The Wire’s Dominic West is part of the Canadian/Australian Teams.

All of the teams on this challenge are composed of South Pole experts, wounded veterans who sustained physical or metal injuries in the line of duty, and medical personnel. Set to start in mid-November, the race will span 4 weeks and 208 miles across the Antarctic plateau towards the south pole. By doing this, the organization hopes to raise money for walking wounded charities in all of participating teams countries and awareness. Skarsgård spoke about his participation via a statement from The Walking With The Wounded:

“I’m honored to be working and training alongside these soldiers to raise money and awareness for this very worthy cause”

Alexander has been said to have bonded really well with his teammates and is called an asset to his team. We’ll be sure to keep all of you Truebies updated when we hear more about this awesome cause!
