Captured this United A320 departing out of SFO. In the background is the 1070 ft tall Salesforce Tower, located in downtown San Francisco 13 miles away from the airport. Thanks to the optical phenomena of lens compression when using long lenses, the skyscraper looks much closer to the airport. First flown in 1984, the Airbus A320 family pioneered the use of digital fly-by-wire flight control systems, as well as side-stick controls, in commercial aircraft. This A320 is one of 96 in the United fleet. Nikon D500 w/Tamron 150-600mm.
