Story: A Violent Separation starts when a couple Ray (Robson) and Abbey (Holt) are in the middle of an argument. Leading to tragedy, Abbey’s death. Ray turns to his police deputy brother Norman (Thwaites) to help cover up in the incident. Which will see the Sheriff Ed Quinn (Levine) find no answers.
When Norman looks to carry on his life like normal, he ends up marrying Abbey’s sister Frances (Debnam-Carey). Looking to continue on his life, it is Ray that starts to question his decisions, which could expose the truth the pair covered up.
Thoughts on A Violent Separation
A Violent Separation is a crime thriller that will leave two family’s torn apart by an incident, which one looks to cover up. Leaving the other with the unanswered questions about a murder. This is a story that is filled with different layers behind what has been happening. Showing us how different people are affected in different ways to deal with grief behind an accident. Showing us what people would do for family.
We have a good younger cast with Brenton Thwaites, Alycia Debnam-Carey and Ben Robson giving us strong performances. Along with the more experienced Ted Levine shining like always. There will be an uneasy tension going on through this film, as we wait to see what will happen when everyone learns the truth.
Final Thoughts – A Violent Separation is a tension thriller that is always filled with an uneasy on the relationship between the characters.
