A Tale of Two Reds

By Blessmybag @blessmybag

I was in Kensington, London and Topshop was my last stop before our airport shuttle arrived. I picked up Topshop Rio Rio lipstick from their matte range which is a Lady Danger-ish type of shade that isn't as powdery and more red than orange...but yes, still, a classic coral. I knew Zoella liked it, but was unaware when I bought it that Alexa Chung had recommended it to Liv Tyler as well (as Alexa told ITG), and Liv completely followed suit on that shared tidbit. There goes the neighborhood.

Excuse the "I'm holding my breath" face. I should end this post right here, haha. Of course, it would be not very nice to be raving about a lipstick shade that isn't locally available. I try not to do that or like today if I do, I choose to refer a worthy dupe. The dupe was so good I got confused while cropping photos after downloading the shots from my camera. Read on.

I can say that the dupe is a dupe by shade and a recommendation because of local availability but it's about the same price as Topshop Rio Rio and by no means any cheaper (both are around Php500+). LUSH Santa Baby lip tint though is vegan, more matte than Rio Rio, and wears well throughout the day even through meals.

The great pop and easy thing about it is Santa Baby is seriously packaged like Chapstick but applies like a combustible red lipstick. You do have to layer to get it even but that's my only con.

and LUSH Santa Baby being a gentle vegan formula can also be used as a cheek tint, in my experience anyway, careful though, a little dab does a LOT...seen as cheek tint below.

I think that although this Santa Baby lip tint (lipstick really) is a Holiday limited edition via LUSH Cosmetics it might still be available 'till end of January. Forgive me for being late to the party in mentioning this. Give your local LUSH boutique a call to find out if they still have Santa Baby stock available.
