3 Tips On Getting Your Shelter Cat Acclimated To Their New HomeMy cats mean the world to me. I've been blessed to have had them for as long as we've had because we actually rescued them from a shelter. I say that because I've had many friends bring home sheltered cat and never really think of what's going to happen next. There are so many things that can go wrong but lucky for you, I have a few tips to helping your new shelter cat become acclimated to their new home, or rather, their new home. 3 Tips On Getting Your Shelter Cat Acclimated To Their New Home1. Provide A Small Area To Call Their Own- Cats are extremely territorial and coming into a new environment leaves them feeling really uneasy. There's so much to explore in their new space that they aren't sure what may be around every corner. Do them a favor and provide them a small area to call their own for a few days or weeks ( especially when introducing them to another cat in the home ). Furnish the room with a few cat items such as food, water and a litter box. You'll want to spend time with your new furry friend so make sure that it's as comfortable for you to enjoy as well.

I came across Cat’s Pride® Fresh & Light® while shopping the other day and it seemed perfect! It has amazing odor control which is perfect for having two cats. The clumping action is one of the strongest clumps out there plus it has low dust which means low tracking for when they are done with their business. SIGN ME UP! The best part? Every purchase you make of Cat’s Pride® Fresh & Light®  goes to donating a pound of litter to shelter across the country!

Try and look at your home with a curious cat eye for climbing or exploring potential. When your cat becomes acclimated to your home, you may be surprised to find them on top of the upper kitchen cabinets ( Ellie was notorious for having that be her safe haven ) so make sure that there isn't anything on display there or on high shelves that could potential be damaged or hurtful to them.
3 Tips On Getting Your Shelter Cat Acclimated To Their New HomeDid you know that you can sign up for the free Cat's Pride Club to nominate a shelter to receive litter donations. Over 4 million pounds of litter have been donated since 1995, which is nearly 400,000 pounds this year already! You'll able to find updates on the program donations and shelter highlights on the website too. Learn more at catspride.com/litterforgood!
