Yummy Autumn Treats!

By Ourbabyblog @OurBabyBlogx

One of my favourite things to do with Abbie right now is baking, she is so into it and surprisingly a natural too! Growing up I baked with my Nan a lot, she would let me do pretty much everything and I loved it so much, passing the memories onto Abbie is definitely something I want to share.

It's not always fun, I mean she is 3, the amount of times she's had a tantrum because she wants to break another egg/pour the bowl upside down/eat the cookie dough before it's cooked etc is too many to count. But 7 times out of 10 she just wants to stir, add the ingredients and eat them afterwards!

Autumn is the perfect opportunity to get back into the baking spirit, with the colder days and now having an extra hour in the day too, there's no excuse for us! When the house smells like freshly baked brownies or cookies, it makes me feel a bit fuzzy inside! With that said I decided to go through Pinterest and find some delicious Autumnal treats for you all!

Do I really need to go ahead and convince you to make these? Thought not.

Growing up in Southend, these were readily available all the time, at the little stands by the beach, I always chose the simple toffee apples, but they seem to have been elevated since I was little, now they are made with caramel, chocolate, sprinkles, nuts and loads more, definitely fancier and even more yummy! I've actually ordered some for our food shop this week, and will definitely be trying them next month too, although I think red apples instead of green!

I have to be honest, I'm not really a fan of all these pumpkin recipes at the moment, I've had pumpkin soup before that was bloody delicious but I can't help but feel that it should be left out of sweet things, however, these have some rave reviews and look so yummy too, if pumpkin isn't your thing either, just replace it with some angel delight, add some orange food colouring and you're good to go!

My own little recipe now, probably my favourite thing i've ever baked, heavenly hazelnut goo of Nutella in every mouthful, YUM!

I don't know a single person who doesn't like apple pie, part of me wants to just pour a loud of custard on top of this pile of cookies! These have been added to my to bake list for next month!

As soon as I saw this my mouth started watering, look at those layers! It's like a trifle of caramel and apple goodness! So simple and easy to make, even the little ones will love helping out, although I think more apple would end up in Abbie's tummy than in the actual cups...

Oreo Cheesecake Cookies
I have a bit of an obsession with cheesecake at the moment, and Oreo's for that matter. Mixing them both together for double the treat is a no brainer really, really gonna have to make these again soon!

Lemon Drizzle Cake
Such a simple recipe again, something Abbie loves helping me make too! A definite winter warmer and family favourite, adjust the ingredients to suit your personal taste and serve with a yummy cup of tea! Yum!

Yummy Autumn Treats!

I have been meaning to make these for ages, three delicious layers of sweet treats, no baking needed, just a fridge, some mixing and lots of eating!

And last but not least...

Basically a staple during Autumn and Winter, instead of heading over to Starbucks or Costa, have a go at making your own yummy hot chocolate! With digestive biscuits, mini marshmallows and a generous drizzle of melted chocolate, nothing says winter warmer like this!
