“Your Home Made Perfect”: Yehuda & Naomi’s Gorgeous Radiators

By John Lawless @BestHeatingUK

When the lovely TV Lady Builder, Interior Designer & Project Manager Sian Astley aka @makeitmoregeous got in touch about an exciting BBC Two ‘Your Home Made Perfect’ project, we were quite obviously thrilled to get involved with the transformation!

Now all the hard graft is complete, we’re even more excited to share this amazing renovation with you. Believe us, you will not be disappointed!

Designed by amazing architect Robert Jamison, the dream build was made a reality for Yehuda & Naomi and their young family after three tough years of construction through Covid.

Before The Transformation

Before the transformation, the home had plenty of potential with high ceilings and nicely sized rooms. But the 1950s prefab home in Hertfordshire lacked original features and character.

As stylish radiator aficionados, the standard convectors particularly stood out to us as a missed opportunity for adding interesting shapes and color into the scheme, and we couldn’t agree more with Sian’s comment below.

“Although Yehuda and Naomi have UFH throughout the kitchen extension, radiators are still needed in both the existing house and at the transitional areas – plain white rads just didn’t cut the mustard.”

Beautiful Bronze Radiators

During the design dream building process, Yehuda wanted to create a big, interesting space that’s fun to be in. Naomi yearned for more storage and improved practicality. The couple were unsure how to combine Yehuda’s experimental style with Naomi’s vision of a functional family home.

But Robert’s unique, sunny design stole their hearts and managed to create the perfect combination of form and function to meet their needs.

As you enter the new wing extension, you can’t help but fall in love with the comforting, earthy scheme and the unique use of shape and texture. Yehuda expressed “There’s some sort of magic in the space which has created theater and drama”.

It is clear that every detail has been meticulously planned and the care and attention gives the home a beautiful finish. Presenter Angela Scanlon said “The attention to detail in all the finishes and fixtures and fittings feels almost painstaking”.

One of those details that adds character to the new home and brings the scheme together is our beautiful metallic bronze Milano Windsor column radiators.

“We sourced some Windsor metallic bronze radiators from the Best Heating UK and they work brilliantly. I’ve used these on other client jobs too and everyone has always been delighted with them.” Sian

The Cosy Retreat

We love the choice of the bronze Windsor and matching valves to complement the warm honey toned timber, terracotta tones throughout the kitchen and cosy retreat. The luxurious velvet textures and metallic finished are a true delight. Naomi is looking forward to “relaxing in here at the end of the day with a good book and a hot drink, just curling up in there”

The New Bathroom

Moving into the bathroom, the beautiful scheme continues with the elegant, traditional style shower and handset in oil rubbed bronze. The burnt orange and teal tiles work so well with the rich bronze elements, creating a sun, sea and earth feel. This is the definition of bathroom goals!

Yehuda was over the moon with the finished renovation and said “There’s a joy to this place that was just never present before. It’s almost more homely than a home could be in our minds. This is a dream come true.”.
