If you’ve been waiting to place a pre-order for the Xbox One or Sony’s PlayStation 4, then you should find all the piggy banks you’ve got because the cost for these next-gen consoles are a bit higher than we have expected.
Amazon UK has listed its’ pre-order price for the upcoming consoles at £599.99 which is about $900 in U.S. dollars. They have listed the release date for the Xbox One to be on December 31st, 2013 as well.
No need to freak out yet because the product page states that this is only the “placeholder” price, not the official price of the product. Which means that Amazon is just trying to get more pre-orders before others, with a promise of charging the lowest if the official price get’s lower than $900.
I think the official price will probably go lower than $900. If it doesn’t, I will officially give up gaming on next-gen consoles forever.
